#39: Ernest Ranglin

Ernest Ranglin is far and away the greatest Jamaican guitarist and has been for the last 60 years. His wonderful improvising can be heard above, on the Beatles tune "You Won't See Me." Some credit him with inventing the Ska beat. He walked the line between pop, jazz, calypso and reggae, always playing whatever was appropriate for the musical setting he was in.
